Doing Good Together - Fonterra and PWASNZ

We partner with organisations to collectively do more for our communities and show manaakitanga (generosity and care).

Dairy giant Fonterra unites with Pass Wide & Slow New Zealand in a commitment to help improve horse rider’s visibility on our roads.

Through its ‘Doing Good Together Fund’, Fonterra has met the cost of a generous print run of hi-vis vests with its logo proudly displayed alongside the important driver behaviour message of Pass Wide (2 metres when possible) and Pass Slow - Kia Tūpato Kia Āta Haere.

“We’re proud to support the Pass Wide & Slow initiative through Fonterra’s Doing Good Fund, the initiative strengthens community connection in rural communities.” Fonterra

PWASNZ is grateful to the Fonterra team for understanding the importance of kotahitanga – unity which underpins our approach to raising awareness and educating all road users on how to approach and pass a horse and rider safely.  These vests will play an important role in Pass Wide & Slow NZ Worldwide Awareness Rides this year.

Being visible, and being seen is one way in which the horse-riding community can help share this life saving message and give driver’s more opportunity to adjust their approach and passing on the road.

PWASNZ Ambassadors Aurora & Moose - Aurora is an equestrian from Wellington proudly wearing her PWASNZ / Fonterra Hi Vis Vest and will be riding in the PWASNZ Awareness Ride in Ōhariu Valley Ride on 14 September.

The PWASNZ team will distribute the Fonterra endorsed vests within the equestrian community, with a focus on our tamariki and rangatahi.
